2022 Sangiacomo Via Maria Vi Maria Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

The Sangiacomo’s farm over 1600 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Sonoma County, sources their grapes to over 90 other wineries and partners. They retain 3% of the grapes for their own label, while sourcing out the rest. They have fifteen different vineyards spread across Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Petaluma Gap, and Sonoma Valley with 40 different vineyard designates. Additionally, they farm Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville, Napa Valley. Their vineyards are separated into individual blocks and terroirs. There are over three hundred blocks, each farmed individually according to its unique soil, microclimate, root stock, and clone.

This wine is from the Sangiacomo’s Legacy Series which showcases the best six barrels of fruit from their estate vineyards in each vintage. The fruit is sourced from Sonoma Coast.

Named in tribute to the legacy of matriarch Maria Sangiacomo, who along with her husband Vittorio founded Sangiacomo Vineyards in Sonoma Valley. This brilliant garnet colored wine shimmers with gorgeous aromatics of rose petals, lavender and powdered cinnamon. It has a brooding and expressive personality of dried wild strawberries, Morello cherries, crushed black plums, cedar and a whisper of earth. It is succulent wine with plush, velvety tannins along with a rich, balanced and extremely complex core. This is a flawless wine of pedigree that is in its early stage of evolution offering endless hours of gratification. Secure as much as you can get.
