2019 Benovia Martaella Russian River Pinot Noir

Ben Dewane and Novian Anderson never met, yet they raised their children with similar old-fashioned values. Surround yourself with good people and let them get to work. And never, ever produce anything that wouldn't make you proud.

Joe Anderson and Mary Dewane would eventually find each other and marry. Together, they would establish a winery that would make them, and their fathers, proud. The Benovia name pays homage to Ben and Novian Anderson. With a wealth of talents, winemaker Mike Sullivan has become the catalyst for solidly placing Benovia wines in the history books.

Deep ruby in color, this textbook Russian River Pinot Noir opens with aromas of ripe cherry, cassis, baking spices and a hint of toasted oak. The palate has a layered and juicy mouthfeel, which I always love in a Pinot Noir. I can’t get enough of this sensation! The mid-palate builds in flavors, supported by dark, red fruit and finely grained tannins. The refreshing acidity leads to a long and generous finish. We found this wine to be a captivating blend of bold fruit with restraint, yielding mildly sweet and savory elements. An amazing achievement by Winemaker Mike Sullivan and his team at Benovia!
