2019 Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny

Founded in 1880 and based in Beaune, the Joseph Drouhin Domaine is one of the largest estates in Burgundy. With over 197 acres of vineyards in Chablis, Cote de Nuits, Cote de Beaune and Cote Chalonnaise, it is comprised of a majority of Premier and Grand Crus. Some vineyards are among the most famous in Burgundy, such as their flagship Clos de Mouches, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Corton-Charlemagne,etc. Four generations later, the family continues to build on their reputation for wines with balance, elegance and character that reflect the individual terroir and vintage. Beginning with the 2009 vintage, all estate grown grapes are certified organic.

The 2019 Drouhin Chambolle Musigny is beautifully aromatic, a characteristic of quality wines from this appellation. The refined nose reveals pretty aromas of plum, black raspberry, spice and subtle anise that are fresh and enticing. The fleshy flavors unwind to reveal a complex core of fruit that’s uplifted and balanced. With a persistent finish, it continues the promise of quality in vintages ending in the number 9.
