2021 Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Clos Hauserer Riesling, Alsace
This Domaine has a winemaking history dating back to 1620. Its current name came about in 1959 when Leonard Humbrecht married Genevieve Zind. Presently, there are 100 acres of estate vineyards with four Grands Crus parcels. Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is currently managed by Olivier Humbrecht.
The Clos Häuserer Riesling vineyard was planted by Léonard Humbrecht in 1973. The vineyard is east facing favoring a warmer climate and is planted on rich marl limestone soils. Pale yellow in appearance this wine unveils floral aromas of Meyer lemon and lively orange zest. Inside is a mosaic of mouthwatering flavors with tropical fruits intertwined with ginger, basil and finely crushed stones. There is a steeliness and tension to this wine which heightens it overall appeal. This wine displays the pedigree behind Domaine Zind-Humbrecht.
