This wine is sourced from the Witness Tree Vineyard in the Eola-Amity AVA at an elevation of 500 feet and crafted from Pommard clones of Pinot Noir. It is fermented using 38% whole cluster and aged in 40% new oak (Quintessence and Taransaud barrels). The modest 121 cases produced are well crafted.

The 2021 Eila Indigo Pinot Noir is a flamboyant and more masculine wine with substantial depth and structure. The wine has an iridescent purple hue with broad shoulders giving you a brief glimpse into its future aging potential. It has a seductive bouquet of freshly cut roses. Within are layer upon layer of ripe black fruits with blackberry preserves, baked blueberries, pitch black cherries and a coating of dark mocha packed into the background. This wine is built on a rich and complex framework that needs time to evolve in the glass before approaching. It is balanced with an underpinning of acidity that is barely noticeable given the depth of fruit. Give this wine plenty of patience and aging as it will dazzle you over the years.
