Rosella’s Vineyard is described as “Rolling Vineyards Amongst the Lemon Groves.” Made by Dan Kosta, co-founder of Kosta Browne, the Kosta Browne Rosella’s Pinot Noir is a sexy, seductive wine. This is a textbook example of what the Pinot Noir grape is capable of in the right hands. The color is pure bright ruby in the glass. Initially it is restrained, but as the wine aerates it reveals a dazzling display of blackberries, raspberry coulis, red spices and a hint of cedar all wrapped together in underlying notes of minerality. The elegant palate is layered with juicy red fruit, hints of black tea, lively acidity and well rounded tannins. It is extremely well balanced, giving way to a long luxurious finish that goes on and on. Dan Kosta is truly a master at crafting Pinot Noir. The 2022 Kosta Brown Rosella’s Pinot Noir is one of the finest examples from this storied vineyard planted by the legendary Gary Franscioni.
