Morgan wines are currently being made by owner Dan Morgan Lee. The winery is in Salinas, where traditional wine making techniques, combined with modern technology, allow Morgan to bottle. The wines from Morgan were new to our tasting panel and we were very impressed with the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Both were distinctly characteristic and ranked as of some of the best wines in our tasting.

The 2022 Morgan Double L Chardonnay is a serious wine. The wine had a shimmering pale golden color with floral aromatics that were lovely and memorable. The wine reveals subtle notes of apricot, orange peel, candied citrus fruit, crushed stone and vanilla. The flavors are delicious and mouth-filling, tightly wound with citrus, pear, a touch of creaminess and elegant, bright acidity that adds lift to a long finish that goes on for minutes.
