2023 Roar Sierra Mar Vineyards Pinot Noir
Gary Franscioni planted the first of their vineyards in 1996, naming it after Gary’s wife Rosella and in 1997, Garys' Vineyard was established with the assistance of the Pisoni family. Two more vineyards have since been planted, the Sierra Mar Vineyard which sits at an altitude of 1000 feet in elevation and the Soberanes Vineyard, established in collaboration with the Pisoni’s.
The vineyards vary from having sandy loam topsoils of decomposed granite or gravelly loam. The wines typically spend time in French oak.
The 2022 Pinot Noir Sierra Mar Vineyard opens with gorgeous color of deep ruby. Intense aromas of warm stone fruit, cassis, rose petals, anise, a hint of spiced tea and earth. The palate is packed with rich ripe fruit, a silky texture, creamy vanilla, baking spices and a hint of toasted oak that carries through to a delicious mouth-filling finish that goes on for minutes. This spectacular 2022 Roar Sierra Mar Pinot Noir will develop well over time in the bottle, where all these gorgeous nuances will come together harmoniously. Another stunning Pinot Noir from Roar.
