2022 Wrath KW Ranch Pinot Noir

Wrath is the brainchild of co-owner Michael Thomas upon taking over the lead of the family’s vineyard at the request of his stepfather. Michael received a Ph.D. in Classical Art and Archaeology from the University of Texas at Austin. He spent the last 16 years excavating sites in Italy. Michael’s years in Italy seeded a passion for great food and wine and the regional characteristics he discovered. These experiences were critical in shaping his palate, a unique perspective on wine, and a vision about the kind of wine Michael wanted to produce.

The 2022 Wrath KW Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir was stunning! In the glass the color showed a lighter shade of ruby, but this is where the lightness ended. This wine is super complex and packed with succulent red fruit, baked cherry, refreshing crushed raspberries, blooming red roses, notes of anise, spices and a hint of cola. The palate is richly layered with bright ripe red fruits, silky tannins and a creamy core. It achieves a perfect balance on the palate with just the right amount of acidity and minerality. A hint of white pepper and dried herbs adds nuances that lift this Pinot Noir to a whole other level. The finish is long and memorable. A stunning wine from Wrath. Bravo!!!
