2022 Wrath McIntyre Vineyard Pinot Noir

Michael Thomas directs both the winemaking and vineyard at Wrath. He initiated Wrath with an aggressive vineyard rejuvenation program, replanting large sections of the estate San Saba Vineyard with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. Michael assembled a vineyard/winemaking team that includes winemaker Sabrine Rodems and grower Steve McIntyre. Current production is 8,700 cases, available only from the winery.

The 2022 Wrath McIntyre Pinot Noir reveals a deep ruby hue. The ripe red fruit aromas rise immediately from the glass. Within are touches of rose petals, dried sage, and brown spices. The palate is tightly woven and packed with sweet red fruit, chewy tannins, and minerality that picks up steam with each swirl in the glass. Amazingly, the wine softens as it sails with finesse across the palate to an extraordinary finish. This is a complex and intriguing Pinot Noir from Wrath. It will be interesting to see how this wine evolves with a few years in the bottle.
