2021 Sangiacomo Oakview Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Today, there are four generations of Sangiacomo family members that maintain the high quality of farming tradition and family values while crafting noteworthy wines. Winemaking has been under the guidance and direction of James MacPhail for the past 24 years.
The fruit for this wine is derived from vineyards in Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, Napa Valley, Yountville, Oak Knoll and Mt. Veeder. It is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Malbec. This well-crafted Cabernet Sauvignon from Sangiacomo Vineyards flies under the radar as there is so little produced.
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon heralds from the southern reaches of Napa Valley. This bottling is especially impressive as it showcases concentration and elegance intertwined together. The inky purple rim showcases what is to come with an alluring bouquet of candied purple violets and dark melted chocolate. This silky wine glides effortlessly across the palate with a racy assortment of lush black fruits. Blackberry preserves, fresh baked blueberry pie and black currant puree ooze from the edges of this wine with underpinnings of black tea, Asian spices and creamy mocha. The tannins are perfectly rounded offering a seamless wine ending with a long and memorable finish.
